Academic Schools brochures for Emmanuel College
-
In 2018, Emmanuel College reorganized its academic programs into five new Academic Schools, creating an opportunity to give each one a distinct identity and help prospective students understand what made it unique. With no existing messaging or visual language for the Schools, the Office of Marketing Communications developed a series of brochures to introduce them to prospective students.
I designed all five brochures, creating a visual system that gave each School its own signature color while maintaining a cohesive relationship with the Emmanuel brand. I also introduced a more sophisticated typography pairing to distinguish the brochures from the College’s broader admissions materials and give the Schools a more academic, editorial feel.
Each brochure was tailored to the size and scope of its School, with variations in length and content based on the number of programs and stories to feature. Together, they brought academics to life through the people and experiences behind each School—including faculty, students, research, study abroad and internships—and gave Admissions a more targeted resource for students exploring a particular area of study.

The brochures gave Emmanuel’s new Academic Schools a visual foundation at an important moment in their development, helping establish them as distinct centers of academic exploration while still connecting them to the larger College brand.
The series became part of Admissions’ yield strategy, giving counselors a targeted piece to share with prospective students who had already expressed interest in a particular School or were still exploring their options.
The Academic School brochures received a CASE District I Silver Excellence Award in Design, recognizing the series for its role in introducing and shaping the identity of Emmanuel’s newly established Academic Schools.
