Student-Athlete Photoshoot

Emmanuel College wanted its athletics materials to better reflect the competitive, nationally recognized student-athletes and coaches who represented the Saints. As the College’s only in-house designer, I developed the creative direction for a new photography library that could support a range of future communications.

Working with the senior content strategist and photographer, I art-directed a student-athlete photoshoot focused on energy and athleticism. We photographed athletes against a clean white background so the images could be easily clipped and reused across different formats. The resulting library became a flexible visual resource rather than a one-time campaign asset.

Athletics Brochures

I designed a suite of 16 sport-specific recruitment brochures using a shared template and the new photography. Each brochure was tailored to the individual sport while maintaining a cohesive visual system across the Athletics program. The brochures were produced in print and digital formats, allowing recruiters to share them with prospective student-athletes on campus or on the road.

The photography usage extend beyond the brochures to banners, a team bus wrap and a billboard near Fenway Park.

The work gave Emmanuel Athletics a more distinctive and competitive visual presence, replacing the previous approach that grouped varsity athletics with more casual recreational offerings. The photography library also gave the department a versatile set of assets that could be adapted across future communications.

The athletics brochure series received a CASE award for design. More importantly, it gave student-athletes and the Athletics department a level of visibility that reflected the energy and achievement they brought to the College.
